Description

Content of the active substance (s) and other substances:
Norfloxacin – 10 g / 100 g.

Indications:
Treatment of bacterial infections of the respiratory and digestive tract caused by norfloxacin sensitive organisms: Grap-positive aerobic bacteria: staphylococcosis (ie Staphylococcus spp. ); Gram-negative aerobic bacteria: colibacillosis (E. coli), chronic inflammation of the respiratory system, salmonellosis (Salmonella spp.), pasturelose (Pasteurella spp.), mycoplasmosis (Mycoplasma spp.). Sensitivity to norfloxacin is demonstrated by Enterobacter spp., Haemophilus spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp. Chlamydia spp also shows good sensitivity to the drug.

Contraindications:
Do not use prophylactically. Do not use in case of known cross-resistance of bacteria to fluoroquinolones or quinolones. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.

Side effects:
Unknown. If you experience side effects after the administration of this product or notice any alarming symptoms not mentioned in the leaflet (including human symptoms due to contact with the drug), please inform the responsible veterinarian, responsible entity or the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products. The application form should be downloaded from the website http://www.urpl.gov.pl (Division of Medicinal Veterinary Products).

Target species:
Pigeon.

Dosage for each species, route (s) and route of administration:
Pigeons: 1–1,5 ml for 1 l of drinking water (8–15 mg of norfloxacin per 1 kg of body weight) per day, administered with drinking water for 3–4 days. In the case of salmonellosis, the dose can be increased by 25–50%, and the treatment can be extended to 5–7 days. The correct body weight of  treated animals must be determined as accurately as possible such that the dose of the antibiotic to not be too low. Ingestion of the prepared solution depends on the clinical condition of the treated animals. The concentration of the solution should be adjusted to obtain the correct dose of the antibiotic used in the treated animals. A fresh treatment solution should be prepared every day.

Grace period:
Do not use pigeons whose tissues are intended for human consumption.

Special precautions for storage:
Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Store at a temperature below 25°C. Do not use the veterinary medicinal product after the expiry date stated on the label. The expiry date is the last day of the month in question. Shelf life after first opening the container: 30 days. Shelf life after reconstitution according to directions: 24 h.
