The content of active substance and other substances:
Ivermectin 18.7 mg / 1 g. Oral paste, white or almost white, odorless.
Therapeutic indications:
The preparation is intended for the treatment of invasions caused by the following parasites: large columnlets: Strongylus vulgaris – adult forms and larval stages in the blood vessels, Strongylus edentatus – adult forms and larval stages in the tissues, Strongylus equinus – adult forms, Triodontophorus spp. – adult characters; small bugs: adults and larval stages L4 from the genus: Cyathostomum, Cylicocyclus, Cylicostephanus, Gyalocephalus, Cylicodontophorus; roundworms: Parascaris equorum – adult forms and larval stages L3 and L4; pinworms: Oxyuris equi – adult and larval stages L4, Trichostrongylus axei – adult forms, Habronema muscae – adult and immature forms (skin form); microfilariae: Onchocerca spp .; lungworm: Dictyocaulus arnfieldi – adult and immature. Ivermectin acts on gasterophilus larvae that live in the mouth and stomach.
Contraindications:
Do not use in the case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients. Do not use in other animal species. Fatal intolerances were reported in dogs, especially in collies, Old English sheepdogs, related breeds and hybrids, and turtles.
Side effects:
In the case of a strong invasion of microfilariae (Onchocerca spp.), swelling and pruritus may occur after administration of the product in horses. These reactions are most likely the result of the disappearance of a large population of microfilariae and usually disappear after a few days, sometimes it may be recommended to undertake symptomatic treatment. If you notice any serious symptoms or other symptoms not mentioned in the information leaflet, please inform your veterinary surgeon.
Target animal species:
Horse.
Dosage for each species, route and route of administration:
The product should be used orally at a dose of 0.2 mg of ivermectin per 1 kg of body weight of an animal. The 6.65 g of the syringe contains 120 mg of ivermectin, which is sufficient for a treatment of a horse weighing 600 kg. A syringe with an amount of 9.63 g of paste contains 180 mg of ivermectin, this is the amount needed to treat a horse weighing 900 kg. For horses weighing less than 600 kg or more but less than 900 kg, a correspondingly calculated dose should be applied according to the graduation, whereas for horses of a greater weight, two or three packages should be applied according to the scale.
Recommendations for proper administration:
After removing the plug, insert the dispenser into the area of the mouth angle through the toothless edge and direct its tip towards the back of the tongue, give a measured part of the paste on the tongue back. In order to ensure the correct dosage, the animal’s body weight should be estimated as accurately as possible.
Withdrawal period:
Do not use in horses whose tissues are intended for human consumption.
Special precautions for storage:
Store in a refrigerator at 2-8ºC. Protect from light. Store in a place that is invisible and inaccessible to children.
