Name of veterinary medicinal product:
Kolistin3, powder for reconstitution of oral solution for cattle, pigs, hens and turkeys.

Content of the active substance andother substances:
Colistin (sulphate in) 3,000,000 IU / g.

Medical indications:
Treatment of intestinal anesthetics of avalanches, pigs, hens and chickens, caused by non-invasive E. coli strains sensitive nakolistics. Before starting treatment within metaphylaxis should identify the presence of this disease in the herd.

Contraindications:
Do not use this drug in horses, especially honeys, because the change in the balance of the gastrointestinal microflora may lead to the occurrence of potentially fatal colitis associated with the administration of antibiotics (Antimicrobial associated colitis, colitis X), commonly caused by Clostridium difficile. Not used in the case of hypersensitivity to active substance or to any of the excipients.

Side effects:
Not confirmed. If you have side effects after popping this product or you notice any disturbing symptoms not mentioned in the vial (including symptoms of a man’s skin contact), please inform the responsible veterinarian, responsible entity or the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocides. The application form should be downloaded from the website http://www.urpl.gov.pl (Division of Medicinal Veterinary Products).

Target animal species:
Cattle, pig, chicken, turkey.

Dosage for each species, route and method of administration:
Administration in drinking water.

Fluid intake is dependent on many factors including the age, clinical condition of the animal, environmental conditions. In order to obtain a correct dosage should be monitored for the consumption of water and to adjust content of the product in solution. Before starting treatment, the total body weight of treated animals and the total water intake should be calculated as accurately as possible. The medical solution should be prepared immediately before administration. Water containing a veterinary medicinal product should be the only source of drinking water for animals throughout the treatment period.

Treatment should be continued for 3–5 days. Drinking water with the addition of drug should be replaced every 24 hours. Duration of treatment should be limited to the minimum time necessary to cure the disease.

None.

Withdrawal periods:
Pigs: Edible tissues -1days. Calves: Meat and offal – 2 days. Chickens: Meat and offal – 1 day. Eggs – zero days. Turkeys: Edible tissues -1days. Not for use in turkeys, which eggs are produced for human consumption.

Special precautions for storage:
Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Store at a temperature below 25°C. Protect from light. After the first opening of the bag to keep tightly closed in order to protect from moisture and light. Do not use this veterinary medicinal product before the expiration date given on the label. The expiry date is the last day of the month in question. Shelf life after first opening: 5 days. Shelf life after reconstitution according to directions: 24 hours.
